NEW MILFORD, Connecticut – September 22, 2016 – Crisp morning air and colorful autumn leaves will greet walkers and runners as they arrive at New Milford’s Harrybrooke Park on Saturday, October 15, 2016 to unite in support of the Diebold Family Cancer Center and its Second Annual Walk & Run. The event will take place rain or shine and participants are encouraged to dress in their Halloween best. Harrybrooke Park is located at 100 Still River Drive in New Milford.
The Diebold Cancer Center Walk and Run starts with registration at 7:30 am for the 5k run and 9 am for the 3k walk. The run begins at 8:30 am and the walk starts at 10 am. Chip timing will be provided for the 5k run only. New routes for both the walk and run are being introduced this year.
Special pre- and post-run/walk events feature kids zone activities, live radio broadcast by 98Q, food trucks and additional refreshments. Male and female run medals will be awarded in eight different age categories at 9:30 am.
New Milford Hospital has been providing extraordinary cancer care for more than 16 years and has a long-standing tradition of clinical excellence and patient-centered care that nurtures the mind, body and spirit. Proceeds from this year’s walk and run will support the Integrative Medicine Services provided to cancer patients free of charge at the Diebold Family Cancer Center at New Milford Hospital.
