Whittingham Cancer Center Oncology Dietitian Bridget Bennett to Present Talk on Healing Cuisine – From Prevention through Survivorship at Norwalk Hospital

NORWALK, Connecticut – September 20, 2016 – The Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital will present a talk on “Healing Cuisine – From Prevention through Survivorship” on Thursday, October 6, 2016. The featured speaker will be the new Whittingham Cancer Center oncology dietitian Bridget Bennett, MS, RD. She will discuss how nutrition can help prevent cancer, ease side effects during cancer treatment, and fuel the survivor. The program takes place from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the Perkin Auditorium at Norwalk Hospital.

Richard Zelkowitz, M.D., medical director, Smilow Family Breast Health Center and breast oncologist at the Whittingham Cancer Center, will provide introductory remarks and explain how the program offers a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge about the link between diet and our health and the benefits of creative nutrition.

Participants will enjoy a nutritious food demonstration thanks to our in-house Chef Michael Coppola, taste delicious, healthful food samples and take home ideas for future healthy eating.

The lecture is free and open to the public, patients, survivors, caregivers and family members.
