Better Burgers

It’s summertime, and the grilling is easier. Expand your burger repertoire (and improve the nutrition of your meal!) by opting for some alternative ingredients.

For a lower calorie yet equally delicious option, try these All-American Turkey Burgers the next time you fire up the grill.

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ⅛ tsp. pepper
  • 4 Kaiser Rolls, split
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 4 slices onion

1. Preheat grill. In a medium bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped onion, garlic, ketchup, and pepper. Evenly divide mixture and shape into four burgers about 3 ½ inches in diameter.

2. Grill burgers five to six minutes per side until they’re no longer pink in the center (165 degrees checked with a food thermometer).

3. To serve, place each burger on the bottom half of a roll and layer with lettuce, tomato, onion, and the top half of a roll.
